Description
In partnership with the Bikeability Trust and The Bicycle Society, we are delighted to offer schools the chance to take part in the brand-new Immersive Cycle Training (ICT) project – fully funded and now available for Year any year group.
This innovative programme can cover 150 students per day, in 1 hour classroom-based sessions (30 per class), bringing road safety and Active Travel to life. Using tablet devices and 360° cyclist-perspective footage, experienced Bikeability instructors guide pupils through realistic on-road cycling scenarios. The result is a safe, engaging, and interactive way for young people to build confidence and learn vital road safety skills.
Following a highly successful pilot in the South of England, participating schools reported:
-
Improved attitudes towards cycling as a form of Active Travel.
-
Greater awareness of how to cycle safely and responsibly on today’s roads.
-
The programme reduces incidents through safer decision-making.
-
Increased respect from students for the rules of the road and the responsibility that comes with cycling.
Importantly, these ICT sessions also act as a springboard into practical Bikeability training (Levels 2 & 3), subject to funding – helping to embed sustainable and safe travel habits for life.
Spaces across Manchester are limited and will be allocated to schools on a first-come, first-served basis.
Once we have your booking, we will drop you an email and a call to finalise the details.
